At B-Side, sustainability is not an add-on or a talking point. It is a way of thinking that shapes how the bar is designed, built, and operated over time. Rooted in the alpine context and guided by a belief in longevity, restraint, and care, our approach focuses on creating a space that endures culturally, materially, and environmentally. Every decision, from materials and sourcing to daily operations, is made with the intention of reducing excess, respecting place, and allowing the bar to age with purpose.
LONGEVITY
Sustainability at B-Side begins with permanence. The bar is designed to endure, favouring durability, repairability, and timeless materials over short-term trends. Furniture and interior elements are made to age with use, allowing the space to evolve naturally rather than be replaced.
MATERIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Material choices are guided by context and permanence. Wherever possible, materials are sourced locally and crafted with intention, supporting regional knowledge while reducing transport impact. Each element is selected for its tactile quality, longevity, and ability to remain part of the space over time.
A ZERO-WASTE APPROACH
Behind the bar, sustainability is expressed through a zero-waste mindset. Ingredients are used thoughtfully, incorporating surplus and by-products from the hotel in which B-Side sits. This integrated approach reduces waste while strengthening the connection between bar and kitchen. A plastic-free, bottle-free commitment further limits unnecessary consumption and single-use materials.
THOUGHTFUL CRAFT
Sustainability at B-Side is embedded through considered sourcing, construction, and operation. Decisions are guided by simplicity, quality, and care, reducing complexity and resource use while maintaining a high standard of comfort and performance.
MEASURED HOSPITALITY
As a bar, B-Side focuses on doing fewer things with intention. Menus are developed carefully, prioritising quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation. This measured approach supports efficient operations and aligns daily practice with long-term responsibility.

At B-Side, Environmental responsibility is not treated as a feature or statement. It is part of how the bar operates day to day, through maintenance, repair, reuse, and respect for materials and people alike.
